Qualified by Peñin as the Best Young Garnacha in the D.O. La Rioja
GARNACHA has traditionally been the second most widely planted grape variety in Rioja. Locally it is called La Maldita because of the difficulty of making high quality wines with it and because of its low yields and low profitability for the winegrowers. That is why many have preferred to uproot it and replace it with other varieties. This wine aims to recover Rioja's heritage, demonstrating that it is a land of excellent GARNACHA. For this purpose, old vineyards have been selected, from high areas, planted in soils with abundant rocky edges.
Harvest: Hand-picked in mid-October.
Fermentation: Cold pre-fermentation maceration in stainless steel tanks to maintain the full varietal character of the variety. Alcoholic fermentation at 28ºC for about 10 days, with gentle pumping over. Malolactic fermentation in tank.
