Tasting Notes

Appearance: Very dark, almost inky.
Nose: Decisive vanilla and caramel scents, opening up later to the presence of liquorice and brown sugar. However, the scents are very ethereal and do not seem to blend well, with the spicy side often overwhelming the rest. Ginger emerges with cloves, but also a hint of gunpowder. Basically it is not bad, but the balance does not seem to have been achieved.
Palate: It is very gentle and soft, with a massive presence of caramel, a return of vanilla but also of the spicy side: cloves and ginger are present in flashes, alongside a menthol that, at certain moments, becomes preponderant and invasive. Here, too, the cues seem to be interesting, but the hoped-for balance is not achieved. In fact, it often doesn't even feel like a rum, but rather a herbal infusion with a rum base. Definitely not my cup of tea.
Finish: Not very long and at times evanescent. However, fairly smooth and gentle.
