More information Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila
Jose Cuervo Tradicional is the best white tequila from an exquisite special selection.
Talking about the history of Tequila takes us back to the history of the Cuervo family; plain and simple, because their tequila dynasty is the oldest of all and today, one of the strongest in the national and international market. It is probable that, as a company, Casa Cuervo existed before 1795.
José Antonio de Cuervo, founder of the dynasty, obtained in 1758 several lands in the region that is currently Tequila, for the planting of different crops. What is not known exactly is if he was part of the contributors who harvested agaves since the beginning of the 18th century.
What is certain is that, around 1781, his son José Prudencio acquired -just at the time when Charles III decreed the prohibition for the production and trade of alcoholic beverages - the paddocks of the Hacienda de Abajo, where some time later the Cuervo Tavern was installed.
In 1795, when the prohibition was annulled, his brother José María Guadalupe obtained from Charles IV the first licence to produce "mezcal wine".
Jose Cuervo Tradicional is the best white tequila coming from an exquisite special selection, submitted from the beginning to an exclusive cold filtration process, which gives it its extraordinary smoothness.
