Grand Marnier Cuvée du Cent Cinquantenaire is the symbol of the luxury and authenticity of Grand Marnier liqueur.
The history of Grand Marnier begins in the early 19th century.
In 1827, no one in Neauphle le Chateau was prepared for the fabulous fate that awaited them peacefully at Lapostolle Distillery.
After a few years it acquired a solid reputation and gained a rich and grateful clientele. All that was enough for Jean-Baptiste but for his son it was not enough and he went further. The German invasion of 1870 forced Eugene Lapostolle to flee to the Cognac region just at the time he had taken control of the company. During his forced departure, he visited Cognac, the region where the noble Brandy was waiting for the end of the economic crisis.
Neauphle-Le-Chateau
It was then that he had a brilliant intuition: he bought part of the production, an exceptional cognac, slowly aged in oak barrels.
At the end of the war and in the best conditions, he decided to return to Neauphle le Chateau. In Paris, social life began again, luxury products took their place again. This trend and those oak brasseries of Cognac were the key to the great liquor.
Eugene's son, Aler Marnier Lapostolle, became interested in his father's world. He started to taste, experiment, manipulate with exotic orange peels, Cognac and found it. He gathered the whole family together and gave them a taste of the new liquor. Everyone was amazed and fascinated: Grand Marnier was born.
Grand Marnier Cuvée du Cent Cinquantenaire is the symbol of the luxury and authenticity of Grand Marnier liqueur. The decoration of its bottle, inspired by the "Art Nouveau" style, is still made by hand today.
This cuvée is a blend of exotic bitter orange "Citrus Bigaradia" and rare XO cognacs.
