Freixenet Ice Rosé is specially crafted to be enjoyed with ice. Perfect to drink on its own with puff pastries, fruit ice creams, creamy cheeses, or in your cocktails.
To create Freixenet ICE Rosé, Freixenet selected two of the noblest red grape varieties: Garnacha, Trepat, and Chardonnay. Garnacha adds a spicy touch and ripe red fruit, while Trepat enhances freshness and boosts the berry flavor. The addition of Chardonnay creates a more intense wine and balances the effect of the ice.
Although the grapes are red, they are processed using the specific technology for white base cava wines. They are destemmed and placed in pneumatic presses where they macerate until the desired pale pink juice is obtained without applying any pressure. The must is then statically clarified for 24 hours to allow the particles to settle.
Once the must is clear, it is transferred to stainless steel fermentation tanks where selected yeasts for this type of rosé are added. The first fermentation or vinification takes place over 12-15 days at a controlled temperature of 14-16°C, to retain the maximum amount of primary aromas from the grapes. Each variety ferments individually, and then the blend is made.
For the second fermentation in the bottle, proprietary yeasts different from those used in vinification are also added, giving the product a unique and distinct character. It finishes with a minimum aging to preserve the primary aromas of the variety.
Perfect as a companion to puff pastries, fruit ice creams, and creamy cheeses.
Palate: The palate is dominated by a fruity character, but there are also aniseed and spicy notes. It has a fresh, elegant, and sweet finish.
Nose: Intense aroma of wild berries, raspberry, sloe, and strawberries.
Appearance: Onion skin and salmon color, bright, with abundant fine bubbles.
We recommend serving it in a balloon glass, with large ice cubes and strawberries, blueberries, or red fruits to enhance its flavor.
