Alicante Crianza Red Wine
Made from the native Mediterranean variety reflected in our mountains, our climate, our sun and our character. Vineyards cultivated in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
Bodegas Enrique Mendoza, was born in 1989 as a family business, but the project was forged in the late 70's, when as a hobby of Enrique Mendoza began to buy bottles and invest in wine from other wineries as an amateur. Later, recovering the tradition of producing wine in a traditional way in our area, he planted the first 100 vines with which he made his first barrel for his own consumption. The first extension reached 2,000 vines of multiple varieties, with the aim of assessing the acclimatization of the same in the lands of Alfaz.
The production from this plantation could no longer be consumed at home and this situation had to be resolved. The most viable solution that Enrique Mendoza saw was not to uproot the vines but rather the opposite of planting more for later marketing. After this experimental phase of 2,000 vines in Alfaz, the Mendoza family moved to Villena to carry out the second extension to a total of 120,000 vines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Chardonnay varieties.

Finca Xaconero or "Las Tierras del Xarco de Enero". The first documents referring to the cultivation in our Finca date from the 16th century. They say that it rained so much between the months of September and October that our lands remained dammed until January, hence its name, "Las Tierras del Xarco de Enero". Refined for 12 months in French Allier oak barrels.
