More information Edinburgh (Scotland) Gin

In 1777, more than 400 stills existed in Edinburgh. However, there were only 8 distilleries with licenses to operate, so illegal distillation was prevalent throughout the city.

During this time period pink gin was in fashion. The master Scottish distillers realized during their frequent trips to London that in England they used different botanicals than in Scotland which gave the gin the pink colour. From these botanical they encountered juniper berries, citrus, and cilantro. These Scottish pioneers in the art of distilling fused these new botanicals with the best Scottish grain to create a unique rum.

Edinburgh Gin is a Premium Gin that is reminiscent of the time when the Scottish started to create gin. Following their roots, Edinburgh Gin is distilled in a traditional Scottish still named “Jenny” using 11 distinct botanicals (8+3). In 2010, the year of its launch, Edinburgh Gin has earned a gold medal in the only contest it has participated: -Gold Medal: Spirits International Prestige 2010.
