More information Don Papa Rare Cask (Philippines) Rum
Don Papa Rum or the The Don, was inspired by the story of one of the unsung heroes of the Philippine revolution: Dionisio Magbuelas, better known locally as "Papa" Isio. Initially a foreman at a sugar plantation, Papa Isio -- healer, shaman, seer, rebel, and leader of a group of babaylanes -- played a key role during the late 19th-century Philippine Revolution. Papa Isio's spirit and leadership played a critical part in freeing Negros from Spanish rule, ultimately leading to independence for his beloved country.
Don Papa Rare Cask represents a limited edition, premium rum, made from a batch of select casks. Aged for several years in selected over-roasted and toasted American oak casks, the rum is unfiltered and unblended, bottled at 50.5% ABV to retain its character and flavours. Rich and powerful on the nose, smooth and fruity in the mouth, with a long and fresh finish, Don Papa Rare Cask is dark amber in colour and offers rich and complex flavours of oak, cacao, and fruitcake, plus a hint of fresh mint on the finish.
