In the Ribera del Duero there is a place where the timeless meets the unprecedented, Bodegas Cruz de Alba, a new venture with its first vintage in 2003. Biodynamics plays an important role at the estate; going beyond simply organic practices and integrating the diverse forces of nature influencing the vine. The result of these practices can be tasted in the quality and elegant style of the Cruz de Alba wines.
WINEMAKING
Cruz de Alba is made with grapes from vines over 20 years old in the Pagos de los Hoyales, at the heart of Ribera del Duero’s ‘Golden Mile’. Manual harvest when the grapes attain optimum ripeness, fermentation according to traditional Bordeaux methods, and ageing in new French and American oak casks, provide this unique wine with elegance and distinction.
AGING
15 months in new American and French oak casks, followed by an additional 10 months in bottle.

Tasting Notes | Intense cherry red, with dark purple tones. On the nose it shows clear note of ripe red and black berries with a mix of sweet spices such as cinnamon surrounded by fresh tones of mint.
