At Destilerías Bernal, all spirits and distillates are carefully selected just like their raw materials, which undergo a painstaking ageing process.
This laborious process does not allow large-scale extraction, so a maximum annual limit is set based on the stocks in the warehouse. But while all our spirits receive special care, Brandy Constitución is the flagship product of Destilerías Bernal. This brandy is bottled directly from its oak barrels in glass made by Catalan craftsmen.
To produce Brandy Constitución, we select the finest distillates, obtained by distilling wines using a wise combination of traditional methods to create this splendid brandy, which will start off its long ageing process in American oak barrels.
After many years during which the brandy is racked from one barrel to another using the dynamic Spanish solera system, we finally obtain Brandy Constitución.
The simplicity and complexity of the physical and chemical changes in the brandy while it ages for more than 65 years means that just one litre of Brandy Constitución is obtained from 12.7 litres of brandy after all these years.
The product is sold with an exquisite chain in either gold or silver, based on customer preference.
Very rich aromas with a full-bodied, complex flavour that packs a powerful punch and glides delicately down the throat.

Tasting Notes | Appearance: very deep mahogany colour with an iodine-yellow coloured rim, indicative of long barrel ageing.
Nose: very elegant aroma with an incredible aromatic intensity of seasoned wood and dried fruit. This brandy gains in aromatic intensity and finesse as it is warmed in the glass through contact with the hand.
Palate: soft, rounded and full mouthfeel, with well combined flavours. Its nuances of oloroso fortified wine make this a very attractive brandy with a powerful, long, delicate and truly splendid finish.
Retronasal: very rich and persistent. Observations: Due to the long ageing process, we recommend warming the glass in the hand and tasting slowly after a few minutes to allow the aromas to come into their own. |
