Reserva Red Wine from La Ribera del Duero
Condado de Haza produces this reserva with 100% Tempranillo grapes from its vineyards located in the municipal district of Roa and La Horra, at an altitude of about 800 meters, and aged in French oak.
The Fernández Rivera family planted the first vineyards in 1988. They did so on the banks of the Duero River, in a land that is already legendary. Currently, Condado de Haza has 200 hectares of vineyards, all 100% Tempranillo, the characteristic grape of the four wineries of the Fernández Rivera family.
To perfect their wines, all made with Tempranillo, the structure of this winery was designed by excavating a hill. In addition, it has a wine cellar located in a tunnel at almost 30 meters deep.
Condado de Haza Reserve is made from its own vineyards with an average age of 30 years, located in the municipalities of Roa and La Horra, at an altitude of about 800 meters, with heterogeneous soils predominantly clay with the presence of sand.
The year 2018 began with a cold winter, characteristic of the Ribera del Duero, with minimum temperatures reaching -12°C.
Temperatures remained low at the beginning of spring, despite these conditions, bud break occurred within the usual dates, at the end of April.
After a very dry 2017, the rain made its appearance at the end of winter and continued steadily throughout the spring, with abundant rainfall, making the year 2018 classified as very humid in the area.

VISUAL: Clean and bright red wine. Beautiful cherry red colour with a violet hue.
NOSE: When still in the glass, it presents a high aromatic intensity with memories of ripe black fruit and dairy notes. A wide range of aromas appears with spicy, balsamic, and toasty notes.
TASTE: Powerful entry on the palate, with very pronounced fruit and toasty notes, a creamy texture, and well-defined tannins with perfectly integrated acidity. In the aftertaste, black fruit in its sweetest aspect, blackberries, plums, remains present. The wood is very well integrated with notes of toasts, smokiness, and spices typical of ageing in French oak, along with sweet toasty and cocoa notes. It is a powerful and structured wine, elegant and complex at the same time. High persistence.
