More information Chimay Blue (24 Units) Beers
In 1850 a small group of monks from Westvleteren took up residence on the high plateau of Scourmont with the aim, then as now, of “supporting the Chimay region”. Until the day that they decided to make beer from the water available in abundance on this marshy plateau. Some years later, they also began to produce cheese…
Take advantage of this beautiful region to enjoy a moment of discovery, relaxation, or contemplation in the abbey courtyard, gardens, or church.
La Chimay Bleue
Chimay Bleue is a strong, dark brown beer, with very fruity aromas, hints of chocolate and spices and a flavour that improves with time.
This is why it is also known as "Grande Réserve".
In 1948, Father Théodore began the first trials with the new yeast. In 1954, it was marketed as a special Christmas beer for the festive season only. In 1956, it became the "blue capsule", available all year round and an essential reference point in the Chimay range of beers.
