More information Burlan Negra Rum
Burlanegra is a rum unlike any other
Burlanegra Rum undergoes double ageing. It begins its journey in the Dominican Republic, where it is aged for the first 12 months. The tropical climate imparts warmth and smoothness, resulting in a naturally coloured spirit with golden and honey tones, and vanilla and citrus aromas.
Then, Burlanegra is aged for 6 months in exceptional VORS Amontillado sherry casks 51-1 at the Osborne cellars in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, which gives it strength and the characteristic salinity of old Amontillado sherries.
In the final stage of production, water from the Atlantic Ocean is added, transforming this rum into the boldest in its category.
The VORS Amontillado 51-1 Sherry Casks
The “Very Old Rare Sherry” barrels, Solera 51, 1st Criadera are essential to Burlanegra’s unique process, having held wine aged over 6 years biologically and 22 years oxidatively.
