Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Our characteristic bottle is a smoked oak glass bottle with the helmsman emblazoned within a golden porthole on the front. It comes complete with a booklet and a black gift carton that the bottle fits snugly into.
The Distillery
Burn Stewart Distillers Ltd. carried out extensive research amongst its consumers and ultimately decided to evolve and update the look of the brand. A “journey of discovery” lies at the heart of the brand. It encompasses a distinguished heritage, a remote idyllic environment whose geography and history are entwined with hardy seafaring lore and, above all, a liquid with a unique, surprisingly gentle and delicate taste profile. The gentle taste of Bunnahabhain is due partly to the lightly peated malted barley used in its creation as well as the pure spring waters of the Margadale River, trapped underground away from the peaty moorlands. The nose offers a fresh and aromatic experience, with a subtle whiff of smoke floating through the air. The taste starts with a light fruit and nut appeal that leads to a spectacular malty sweetness, finishing into a beautifully rich, full-bodied, lingering experience.
Bunnahabhain Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been adding to its portfolio with the long awaited release of two exciting new mature additions, an 18 year old and a 25 year old. These charming single malts are unequivocally inviting, with a gentle taste profile that makes them quite distinct from many other Islay whiskies. The Bunnahabhain journey is one to be enjoyed by all.
When we changed to unchill-filtered malts to allow their full character to come out, we wanted packaging that told this story. With this in mind a new smoked-oak glass that hints at our flavour has replaced the traditional emerald green of the 12 year old bottle. Additionally dual labeling now tells the tale of our overall sense of specialty, subtlety, confidence and luxury. A revised neck label has also been developed to display the product’s age. And because a good story deserves a good presentation, the bottle now sits in a quality gift carton containing a booklet with tales of the Bunnahabhain brand.
