More information Boë (Scotland) Gin

Franciscus Sylvius (1614-1672), better known as Franz de la Boë was a German doctor and chemist, although he achieved most of his work in Holland. Although he discovered many things in the field of chemistry he also achieved one of the most important findings in the history of liquor: gin. In 1658, Boë created the drink from juniper berries, cinnamon and a secret mix of botanicals because he thought the drink would have a purifying effect.
