More information Borrasca Classic Crianza Wine
The wine comes from Finca el Pou (Enzebres), East of Monóvar.
Grape: 100% Monastrell.
The vineyards are 35-40 years old. 1600 plants per Ha, giving a harvest of 1700/1800 kg per Ha. Dry region, limestone, sandy, mixed with rocks. Traditional agriculture, without the adding of chemical products, or weed killers. Occasional use of Sulphur and every 3-4 years organic fertilizer.
Manual harvest in carton boxes in just one day. Traditional manipulation under strict control of the temperature, with soft ongoing macerations of 30 days. The ripening period is 20 months in French oak barrels of 500 l. Clarifying is done by natural decantation. It contains a very high amount of polyfenoles, and 14,5 % alcohol. Very stable, could provoke some natural precipitation. Permits a long ripening in the bottle, so very apt for keeping. This year 7.000 bottles have been bottled.
