More information Beefeater Black Gin
Beefeater Black surprises with its traditional formula and the addition of aromatic and citrus botanicals.
Beefeater Black maintains the world-famous gin formula and adds thyme and lemon verbena to its botanicals.
It is a 47% alcohol product (94 proof) in the US and New Zealand, 37.1% alcohol in Australia, and a 40% alcohol product (80 proof) elsewhere in the world (including the UK). This gin is distilled from "100% grain spirit". The bottle bears an image of a Yeoman Warder. The manufacturer has been in business since 1820 and is located in Kennington, London.

According to the Beefeater website, Beefeater Gin contains nine different botanicals: Juniper, Angelica Root, Angelica Seeds, Coriander Seeds, Liquorice, Almonds, Orris Root, Seville Oranges, and Lemon Peel. These botanicals are steeped for 24 hours prior to distillation. Distillation takes eight hours to complete.

Tasting Notes | Colour: Transparent, pure, and refreshing even when mixed with tonic.
Aroma: Bright citrus and juniper on the nose. Classic London Dry Gin with pine, lavender, and lemon zest but with aromas of fresh coriander and slightly floral Parma violet. The aromatic, slightly floral notes, resembling hop/celery, suggest the use of angelica seeds, as well as the damp wood of the angelica root.
Taste: Palate-friendly and demonstrating the complexity of flavors expected from the Beefeater house. Fresh, light, and floral but in a classic style with juniper. The sweet citrus oil notes are initially very evident and remain present throughout the palate. |
