More information Altos de Torona Godello 2022 Wine
Altos de Torona is the largest single-piece vineyard in Rías Baixas, with 94 hectares of enormous biodiversity facing south on the slopes of Monte Galeno in Tomiño-O Rosal.
On this hill, overlooking the Miño River and near the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyard is divided into plots, where the Albariño grape is mainly cultivated, along with other native Galician varieties such as Caíño Blanco, Godello, Loureira, and Treixadura.
In Rías Baixas, this space of pure biodiversity is home to more than 91 species of flora and 71 species of fauna, protected under a plan for the action and conservation of this natural habitat that gives rise to wines with Atlantic character, marked typicity, freshness, and elegance.
Altos de Torona Godello
Crafted with 100% Godello grapes. Excellent single-varietal wines are produced in their winery following a careful production process that combines the purest local tradition with the most modern oenological technology.
Vineyard
Sustainably farmed integrated production vineyard, located in O Rosal, on mid-height slopes between the Miño River and the Atlantic Ocean.
Production
Hand selection and harvesting. Crushing, destemming, and cold maceration. Slow and controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aging on lees.
Soil
Granitic, sandy, and highly permeable, allowing for the production of very fine wines with balanced acidity.
Climate
Atlantic, with mild temperatures during the summer that promote slow and delicate ripening, as well as the preservation of fruity aromas.
Pairing
Seafood rice, grilled chicken breast, ray in caldeirada (traditional Galician fish stew), marmitako de bonito (Basque tuna stew), semi-cured cheeses.
