Alicante Bouschet by Tarima is a red wine aged in oak barrels produced by Bodegas Volver and protected under the Alicante Wine Denomination of Origin.

Our most precious asset is this vegetable heritage with vineyards between 30 and 90 years old.

The Bodegas Volver project was created in 2004 by Rafael Cañizares, a trained oenologist and winegrower by family tradition of more than four generations linked to the vineyard and wine.

The pillars of the winery are based on the repositioning of quality Spanish wines, recovering old vineyards of native varieties, which either because of their low yields or lack of generational change would have been lost.

Founded in 2004 by Jorge Ordoñez and Rafael Cañizares, two of the people responsible for the international boom in Spanish wine in the 1990s.

Alicante Bouschet by Tarima

Coupage of the Monastrell and Alicante Bouschet (Garnacha Tintorera) varieties, from many old vineyards located in the villages of the Middle Vinalopo, between the Salinas, Umbria and Sima mountain ranges. Those of Monastrell planted in goblet form between 1935 and 1970, and those of Alicante Bouschet between 1980 and 1985. Traditional dry farming and low yield, at an altitude of between 650 and 750 metres above sea level. 

Grapes are hand-picked, with selection in the vineyard and cellar. Each plot is made separately, fermented in open tanks with native yeasts and then malolactic in new French oak barrels. It is then aged for 18 months. Bottled without filtering.
