The winery was founded by Angle Martinez, born in 1830. He was one of the pioneers in the wine production and labelling in Galicia. His daughter married the firs Santiago Ruiz, who in 1903, when the founder died, followed the family tradition and created his own labels.
They had six children, but was Santiago who took care of the winery and kept the tradition. It was in 1978, being 70 years old and after a long time dedicated to his job in the port of Vigo, that Santiago Ruiz could follow the votation of his ancestors developing his passion for the wine and the vineyard.
Not satisfied with the existing labels, he thought of creating a new one. At that point Isabel, his daughter, was celebrating her wedding at the house. Se draw a little map to help the invitees find the way and when Santiago Ruiz saw it, he added his name to the map and decided that unique drawing to be the final label.
Impulsive and innovator, he provided the winery with the most advanced technology at that time and travelled all around Spain to promote his masterwork. Before long, his wine was praised by the most pretigious restarateurs and journalist.
Varieties: 70% Albariño, 20% Loureiro, 10% Treixadura.
Production
Produced from estate-grown grapes in the sub-zone of El Rosal. Crushed upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are pressed under controlled pressure in a pneumatic press, and clarification of 15 yo 20 hours duration is carried out in order to ferment a totally clean must. Fermentation is conducted under a controlled temperature of 15ºC, for 25 days.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow color, with green reflections, clean and very bright. Very aromatic, reminiscent of floral and tropical fruits, producing complex and exquisite aromas that emanate from the bottle. In the mouth very fresh with balanced body and acidity. Tasty and persistent.
