Next to a small pine wood surrounded by vineyards, the luminosity and balanced proportions of this estate clearly reveal a French influence.

Tarsus seeks to take maximum advanttarsus of the unique characteristics of its vines, located at the heart of the Ribera del Duero . Thus, the harvesting and vinification processes are done by plots, under the supervision of the winemaker, transformed into author and creator responsible for getting wines with deep aromas, high concentration and the potential for tarsusing. Tarsus is the proof of this.

The origins of Bodegas Tarsus date back to 1987, when Iñigo Moreno de Arteaga was able to acquire 86 hectares of vineyard in the Ribera del Duero. Tarsus makes wines which seek to get the best out of autochthonous grapes.

Oenologist: "We have tried to make a wine with a character of its own, with deep aromas of dark fruit, spices and coffee, solid and meaty. Tarsus Reserva is a richly complex wine, the result of meticulous vinification and ageing, able to offer up new nuances with each new tasting."

Vinification and Ageing

Fermented for 20 to 30 at a temperature of 28-30º and aged for 12 months for equal lengths of time in French and American oak casks. A third of these are new barrels and the rest are two or three years old. The ageing process is then rounded off with a further year in the bottle.

Tasting Notes: Deep red in color with purplish rim. Red berry aromas combined with toasted spicy aromas from the oak casks. Hints of flower blossom. On the palate, it is an elegant, fruity, tannic wine.
