More information Damoiseau VSOP (Guadalupe) Rum
Guadeloupe has long had the reputation of having one of the best terroir for sugarcane cultivation. Mister Rimbaud one day came from Martinique to Guadeloupe and created the Bellevue Distillery in the village of Le Moule at the end of XIXth century.
In 1942, Roger Damoiseau bought the distillery and created the brand Rhum Damoiseau. It is now still run by his grandson, Hervé Damoiseau. Years after years, the family made the necessary investments and transformed the old tiny distillery into a producer of world-class Rhum Agricole
The Damoiseau Family has been making high quality rhums for 70 years now. Rhums Agricole Damoiseau have 50% of market share in Guadeloupe. They are distributed in France and also exported to more than 40 countries.
Produced with the greatest respect to the French Caribbean time-honored traditions of Rhum Agricole, Damoiseau V.S.O.P. begins with natural rhum distilled from pure aromatic free-run sugarcane juice and aged a minimum of 4 years in re-charred Bourbon casks. The remarkable alchemy of Rhum Agricole crafted from Guadeloupe’s illustrious sugarcane and aged in the world’s finest oak barrels giving this remarkable rum its radiant mahogany color and long smooth finish.
