Arehucas distilleries, S.A. is a century old Canary Island industry dedicated to the production of an extensive range of liquors (around 20 different types). However, Arehucas is popular for its Rum. The rums of Arehucas have been number one in consumption in the Canaries for over 50 years.

Arehucas started its factory in the Canaries in 1884. Its product had a large acceptance, being recognized and awarded for its quality in the Regional Exhibition of that year, which competed with sugars, alcohols and samples of cane spirits produced in various years.

July 4th. Due to the quality and fame of the products produced by the San Pedro factory, Queen Maria Cristina of Austria, through the Quartermaster General of the Royal Family, awarded Arehucas the title of Provider to the Royal Family.

The technology that sets Arehucas apart is the production process of their cellar, which is what gives its products the trademark Arehucas taste, and furthermore is one of the largest rum cellars in Europe. The island company is present nationally and internationally.

The company slogan comes from the history of the sugar cane and rum: in one of his trips Christopher Columbus brought sugar cane from the Canaries to Santo Domingo and Brazil. The plant subsequently spread to Cuba and to the rest of the American continent, creating the saying “Arehucas, birthplace of rum”.
